HUNGARY ADOPTION
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

PILOT PROGRAM. Coordinator Hungarian/Canadian citizen with 20 plus years experience Hungarian international adoptions.

 


Hungary International Adoption Michigan

CHILDREN BEING PLACED:

Basically 6+, sibling groups (may be with younger children), under 6 with specific medical issues (heart conditions, orthopedic, sight, hearing, etc). Foster homes or small childcare facilities.

Eastern European of Roma and Hungarian ancestry, mostly dark hair, dark eyes, fair to olive complexion. Private English speaking pediatrician completes referral physical examination. Estimated for referral from dossier approval in Hungary approximately one year, shorter for older school age children or with special needs.

PROGRAM SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Married couples or single female;

  2. Childless or with birth or adopted children;

  3. Adopted child(ren) youngest in family;

  4. Age of adoptive applicant(s):
    a. Children, up to 1 year-at least, 1 parent 45 or younger;
    b. Children 2 and older-no more than 45 years difference between applicant(s) and child;
    Exceptions considered where one parent is younger than forty five for older school age or special needs.

  5. Medical for adopting parent(s), results of HIV, Hep B and VD testing.

PROCESS:

To begin the process, see “GETTING STARTED WITH AIAA” on web site. Michigan residents, AIAA completes Home Study/Post Adoption supervision. Out of State applicants, see “CHOOSING OUT OF STATE LOCAL SOCIAL SERVICE PROVIDER on web site.

Dossier submitted with USCIS approval to Central Adoption Committee for child referral. Specific registration number is issued. Committee matches child. Child referral presented. If accepted, both prospective adoptive parent(s) travel within 2-3 weeks to see child and complete Adoption process:

  1. Prospective adoptive parent(s) travel to Province where child resides to spend 5 to 7 hours a day visiting child in foster home or childcare facility for 6 to 7 days;

  2. If prospective adoptive parent(s) decide to proceed, additional 30 days fostering child before Adoption process begins.

  3. For couples, both prospective adoptive parents must remain until the Adoption is finalized.

  4. Estimated time in country 6+ weeks.

Automatic US Citizenship upon arrival in US.

Who are best Candidates for Program? Applicant(s) who work or run business out of residence, who can take “sabbaticals”, working for companies with generous maternity/adoption leave of absence.
