WINTER PROGRAM UPDATE

 

KOREA:  PROGRAM IS ON HOLD DUE TO THE NUMBER OF FAMILIES ON WAITING LIST.  EXCEPTIONS ARE CONSIDERED FOR FAMILIES   WILLING TO CONSIDER CHILDREN WITH SIGNIFICANT SPECIAL NEEDS BEYOND PREMATURITY, LOW BIRTH WEIGHT, HEART MURMUR OR OTHER MORE MINOR MEDICAL CONDITIONS.  PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST A PREAPPLICATION UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO ACCEPT A CHILD WITH A SIGNIFICANT MEDICAL CONDITION.

GUATEMALA:  NOTE: Future adoptions will be affected by the U.S. ratification of the Hague Treaty.  PROGRAM IS ON HOLD.

INDIA:  ON HOLD FOR Infants without medical concerns to Indian families. Toddlers, school age children, older siblings and children of all ages with medical involvement are being referred to all other families.  One parent must be prepared to travel.  Single female applicants accepted for older children and those with special needs.  Older girls wait for families along with younger boys and girls with special needs.

VIETNAM:  AIAA  has received our license for aid and adoption services from the Government of Vietnam.  Adoption placement programs are pending.

CHINA:  AIAA is now working with Alliance for Children in Massachusetts recruiting Michigan families for their program in China.  Alliance made their first placement of a child from China in 1991.  AIAA will provide home study/postplacement services.  Please call our office for more information.

ETHIOPIA:  AIAA will be working with Wide Horizons in Massachusetts recruiting Michigan  families for their program in Ethiopia.   Further Details:  Click Here

AIAA provides home study/postplacement services for Michigan applicants completing international parent initiated placements.  Please contact the office for further information.

Many families will be eligible for a $10,000 tax credit for qualifying adoption expenses.  Also, for specific waiting children, a $6,000 grant is available to offset adoption fees for families who qualify.  For more information on financial assistance options go to:  Financial Assistance
